International Crowdfunding Expert, Jason Best, Joins Fongogo’s Board of Advisors

Jason is one of the most respectable international crowdfunding leaders, ranked as one of the 10 most influential people in crowdfunding by Forbes.com.

He has co-authored the crowdfund investing framework used in the much discussed JOBS Act, in the USA. He provided congressional testimony on crowdfunding on two occasions and was honoured to attend the White House ceremony when President Obama signed the JOBS Act into law in 2012. Additionally, Jason co-founded the crowdfunding industry trade group that works with the SEC and FINRA as they create the rules for crowdfund investing. Jason also works with angel groups, PE/VC firms as well as governments and NGOs, including The World Bank, to understand the crowdfunding ecosystem and create successful crowdfund investing strategies. He was instrumental in the successful effort to have CCA selected by the US State Department’s Global Entrepreneurship Program as a Key Partner. Jason’s firm, CCA, has worked on crowd capital issues in 24 countries and can bring experience and best practices to the countries that he works with. Jason is co-author of the Crowdfund Investing for Dummies book (published by Wiley) and is a contributor to TechCrunch and Venture Beat, and has appeared in Fast Company, Bloomberg Markets and on BBC, CNN, CNBC and CCTV.

Jason co-founded the University of California, Berkeley ‘Program for Innovation in Entrepreneurial and Social Finance’ and is also an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at UC Berkeley’s ‘Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology.’ Prior to his work in crowdfund investing, Jason was a successful healthcare technology entrepreneur with 2 companies in San Francisco.

He will advise the Fongogo team both around the company’s strategic decisions and the formation of a planned Turkish Crowdfunding Association. Jason will also support Fongogo in collaboration with the MENA region.

Gorkem Gokce run his own legal practice, Gokce Attorney Partnership, since 2010 and has been involved in a variety of international mergers and acquisitions, joint venture, private equity and venture capital and project finance transactions as well as privatisations in Turkey. He also has key expertise in Internet based businesses. Clients include Standard Bank, Spotify, NBC Universal, T-Systems, and Formula 1 Administration. Gorkem is a member of the British – Turkish Lawyers Association and acted as the Secretary to the Association between 2008 and 2009. He is also a member to International Technology Law Association and is involved in Communications & Outreach and Program Committees.
