Balıkçık - Kısa Film Projesi / ENGLISH DOWN BELOWBen Ceylin Solmaz, Kadir Has Üniversitesi'nde Radyo, Televizyon ve Sinema okuyorum.
Ekibim:Filmimizin
yapımcısı Ece Yıldırım, aynı şekilde Kadir Has Üniversitesi RTS bölümü öğrencisi.
ENGLISH:
Fish(y) - A Short Film ProjectI'm Ceylin Solmaz. I'm a student in Kadir Has University and my major is cinema. In the last december, I've had the chance to shoot my very first project "a Valentine's Day story". Within that project, I've learned lots about filmmaking and I've improved myself on things I was missing. However, I need your support in this project because of the expenses of equipments, location rents, transportation etc.
Our Team Ece Yıldırım is the producer of the movie and she is also studying in the same university as me. Didem Nur Yayman is our art director, she is a person who's can be counted as professional, her aesthetic sense is so strong, we'll also see in our movie. Our poster designers are Yaren Karadayı and Taha Sertaç Gezer, they are doing amazing jobs on the design part.
A Short Summary of The FilmYağız is a primary school boy who has started to form an emotional bond with his first pet, a goldfish named Balıkçık. Yagiz's grandfather, who lives with them, is the most important person who witnessed his conversation and trouble with the fish. Yağız, who cannot spend much time with his parents who work in a busy schedule, spends a significant part of his day with his grandfather, whom he loves very much. One day, when Yağız was at school, when the fish died, Dede decides to replace the dead fish with a new one in order not to break the bond that Yağız has established with the fish. The cycle starts like this; The ebbs and flows are between the arguments of the parents and the increasing bond between Yağız and Balıkçık, even though the fish is constantly changing, and the inevitability of the concept of "death".
Director's ThoughtsMy grandmother, who changed my goldfish every time I died when I was little and made me believe that my fish lived for 6 years, was actually the inspiration for my project. The disappointment I experienced when I learned that the fish had died long ago, and the values brought to me by thinking that it was not dead, created a conflict in my mind, and I turned my story, which was the starting point of this, into a death meeting story with fictional elements.
If there is at least one thing that everyone who reads this experiences in their life, it is childhood. Even if it was a good childhood or a childhood that was disappointed while growing up, everyone has experienced the pure feelings and innocence of childhood, but most importantly, the child's view of the world. In the movie, I actually wanted to focus on these pure emotions. From my point of view, the opposite of the purest feeling is the death of those pure feelings. Death is what a child fears most when they are young, but as we get older we realize its naturalness. I wanted to present the differences in perspective between grandfather-father-child through a goldfish, on a nostalgic background. My greatest wish is for the audience, namely you, to find a piece of yourself while watching the movie, and to empathize with both the grandfather, the parent or the child.
Why Do We Need Your Support?First of all, FonGogo is a reliable platform where your support will go directly to the project. The part that we need your support for is the equipment, decors, costumes we will use to shoot the film, and apart from these, our transportation costs. As well as the support we received during the pre-production phase of the film, the cost of the fees of the various festivals we wanted to deliver the film also pushed us to open a fund account.
